I've dumped hundreds of hours into Bethesda games over the past (wow, just realized this) six years. Oblivion, followed by Fallout 3, followed by Skyrim. Fallout 4 looks set to build upon the model they've become so well known for. I will say, the designers seem to be building these games for me. I first moved to Washington, DC just after first playing Fallout 3, and was able to direct a tourist to the Lincoln memorial based off my knowledge from wandering in the digital space. Now, more than five years later, my wife and I find ourselves looking at New England in our five year plan. And, as if to spur us on, Fallout 4 is set in Boston, the place where I went to college.
November is a busy month. I'll barely get a chance to play, and I'll have to be careful on the internet. But you better believe I'm looking forward to getting into this game.
